Global leader Honeywell Building Solutions has appointed Grosvenor Engineering Group (Grosvenor) to implement innovative high-tech fire and HVAC solutions for two of its largest assets.
The contract extends across two major prisons. Darwin Correctional Centre in the Northern Territory which includes more than 65 buildings across 60 hectares and Eastern Goldfields Regional Prison in Western Australia comprising 38 buildings located on 15 hectares.
Ian Murphy, Business Development Manager NTWA for Grosvenor Engineering Group comments, “This is one of our largest contracts spanning 75 hectares and 103 buildings. An intuitive real-time asset management solution will be incorporated encompassing fire and HVAC solutions. Grosvenor’s data collection and reporting capabilities will ensure these buildings are compliant with current legislation.
“Fire protection strategies save lives and are a very important part of all facilities. Given the hot climate of the two locations, maintenance of the air-conditioning systems will be integral to reduce stress on the occupants. Providing visibility using intuitive technology on the two site’s maintenance and repair requirements will reduce overall risk.”

The Darwin Correctional Centre, owned by the Northern Territory government is the main corrections facility for adult prisoners in the Northern Territory. It has 1048 beds for both males and females of all security ratings.
