HVACR System and Equipment

Our highly skilled technician has extensive experience in energy management / sustainability, engineering / design, installation and preventative maintenance of complete HVACR systems. This includes chillers, boilers, ventilation and BMS control systems, including in-house analytics. We will create a tailored solution to meet your needs.

Cleaning and remediation

Build up of mould, bacteria and grime on HVACR components has a major impact on indoor environment quality. We have the overall capability to carry out tasks such as: air filtration programs; filter frame rectification and replacement works; fan refurbishments; air-duct cleaning works; cleaning of Air Handling Units (AHUs); deep cleaning of coils; kitchen exhaust system cleaning programs with detailed reporting and plantroom cleaning; detailing, painting and refurbishments.

Ductwork and ventilation systems

We design all types of ventilation systems including general air handling systems through to specialist ventilation solutions for complex installations. All systems comply with relevant ANZ Standards and National Building Code requirements, for bit Australia and new Zealand.

Carpark
ventilation

It’s important that enclosed or underground car parks have adequate ventilation to prevent toxic gas build up. We can design car park ventilation systems to comply with both the performance based and deemed to satisfy requirements of AS/NZS 1668.1:2015.

Indoor air quality monitoring

We can incorporate systems for monitoring airborne particulate, CO2, Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), temperature, humidity, light and noise.

Construction

Our expertise in construction projects means we can design, refurbish and fit-out HVACR systems in your building. We ensure projects are best-fit solutions, delivered on-time and on-budget.

Mechanical Rigging Team

Our Mechanical Rigging Team are trained technicians, which specialise in HVACR systems. They are high risk rigging trained and certified. Their services include all HVACR mechanical repairs including cooling towers, water pumps, Air Handling Units (AHUs), laser alignment services as well as EC fan upgrades and retrofits.

Specialised Chiller Team

Our specialised factory trained chiller team are dedicated to maintaining chillers at a high standard to ensure that equipment operates at optimal efficiency. Our team has an in-depth knowledge of various types of equipment – from air-cooled, water-cooled, high and low temperature applications — and are fully conversant with all types of refrigeration compressors including, reciprocating, scroll, screw, centrifugal and magnetic centrifugal.

HVACR Services FAQs

HVACR systems move air between indoor and outdoor areas, as well as regulating the temperature in residential and commercial buildings. Essentially, they are a system of climate control, keeping you warm during the winter and cool during summer. HVACR stands for:

  • H: Heating – ensuring the room is not too cold.
  • V: Ventilation – providing fresh air to prevent a space from feeling stale.
  • AC: Air Conditioning – keeping spaces from becoming too hot or humid.
  • R: Refrigeration – insulation’s ability to resist heating travelling through it.
An HVACR system is designed to move heat to maintain comfortable conditions within built environments. Heat is moved out of a building in three stages:
  1. Collection: exchanged in the conditioned space using air
  2. Transfer: moved using water or refrigerant
  3. Rejection: dissipated using air, water, or the ground as a heat sink
In principle, HVACR systems follow the laws of thermodynamics to keep indoor air quality clean and comfortable. For a detailed explanation, see our HVACR System guide.
There are three common types of non-centralised HVACR  systems:
  1. Rooftop Packaged Unit
  2. Split System
  3. Ducted System
For a detailed explanation, see our HVACR System guide.

The size of the HVACR system you’ll need depends on your building type and requirements. To achieve efficient climate control, consideration needs to be given to the built environment, maintenance access, and allowable levels of power and water consumption.

For a detailed explanation of the differences between high-rise and low-rise buildings, see our HVACR System guide.

The price of an HVACR system will vary based on its size and complexity – whether you need it for industrial, commercial, or private property. For a detailed quote, you can always message us with your requirements and we’ll assist you with anything you need.

An air-cooled system usually has a 12-15 year life cycle.

A water-cooled air conditioning system usually has a 20-25 year life cycle.

Environmental exposure will play a contributing factor in HVACR life cycles, as well as the maintenance program that is undertaken.

A bag filter usually has a 1 year life cycle, while cardboard filters last 3-6 months. To determine the lifespan of your filter, you should consider how often you use your heating and cooling system, the size of your house, and the air quality in your environment.

While HVACR systems can be costly, they are a worthy investment. If you install a high-efficiency HVACR system, it will actually help you save on energy costs in the long term by providing your space with a controlled comfort all year round.

Ideally, you should replace your HVACR system on or before the date of its estimated life expectancy. If you have been needing maintenance and repair services more frequently than usual, this might mean your HVACR system is deteriorating. Also, you should take notice whenever your energy costs start rising, as a drop in the energy efficiency of your system is a good indicator that it needs to be replaced.

In a commercial application, HVACR maintenance should be done monthly as per Australian standards. To ensure proper maintenance of your units, consider hiring a specialised HVACR technician from a reliable HVACR service provider.

HVACR systems shouldn’t be making disturbing noises when you turn them on. Unusual sounds could mean a bad fan belt, that something is stuck inside, that there is a compressor malfunction, or many other problems. If you’re unsure of the source of the issue, it’s best to contact a technician to identify the problem and solve it right away. Doing so can prevent further damage to your HVACR systems and ensure their longevity.
